I Can See The Sea

If you look deep into the backdrop you can just make out the sea and the Isle of Wight. The view is from St Catherine’s Hill, Christchurch and makes up part of my new cross country running route.
A brief description of yesterdays run
I set off from the flat treading the tarmac, pounding the pavement, or simply running. This picture was taken after 10 minutes of running as I left the dangerous urbanised streets of Fairmile, Christchurch, and reached what is known locally as St Catherine’s Hill. At the top of the this sand based hill I stopped to take a sip of Lucozade and to take a picture of the beautiful vista, and some daffodils.

I continued on en rout, noticing many a beautiful panorama, but, not capturing them all luckily for you. I took the picture of the Daff’s simply because they are weeds to the area, and a beautiful weed at that.
A lesson that I learned
45 minutes in and I was in high spirits. I overtaken a few runners and believed that I was setting a blistering pace. In fantasy, I likened myself to the great Paula Ratcliffe if she were a cross country runner. In reality, I noticed a young lad out for a run, I thought, I’ll show that young whipper snapper, so I upped the pace in order to show him who’s the boss. What happened next taught me the lesson, no matter how good you think you are, someone else is always better, I stayed ahead of this lad for a minute or so until he turned up the heat and came striding past me. I tried my damnedest to keep him in my view, but, the proved worthless as he soon disappeared into the woods.
As it turns out I’m more like Crawler Radcliffe!

This mate is worthy of an oil painting. Soon as you got some Daffodils…happy St David’s day!
